Which type of shower screen is right for me?
Several factors will determine whether a framed, semi-frameless or frameless shower screen system is best suited to your bathroom.
Framed pivot shower screens are durable, attractive, easier to clean, and have fewer moving parts however, framed doors only open out making this option less than ideal in smaller bathrooms.
Framed sliding doors are a sound option in smaller bathrooms but are more difficult to clean and have additional framing.
Semi-frameless pivoting screens have a non-intrusive, modern look, are easy to clean, open in or out, and come equipped with water deflectors.
Semi-frameless sliding screens offer a greater sense of space and are easy to clean with their ‘clip out’ rollers however, they are only available in a two-panel design and have a minimum opening width recommendation of 1050mm.
Frameless hinged shower screens are easy to maintain, open in or out, come with a water deflector and look sleek. The trade-off is they have no frame to protect the glass and some water may escape through gaps in the glass.
The frameless sliding screens offer the trendy ‘barn style’ design and have a contemporary, classy look with no frame (other than the top rail). They are only available in a two-panel design.
Both frameless shower screen systems come with the option of 10mm or 12mm thick toughened glass.
Bath screens are also available for smaller spaces with integrated shower/baths. They offer a practical glass partition while maintaining a clean, open look.
