Travel in the Capital with Tea Connoisseur

Need something different? Enjoy tranquili-tea in the heart of the city.

Canberra’s first fine tea lounge is ready to transport you to another world.

If you are down with a case of wanderlust and can’t wait to travel, why not immerse yourself in a brand-new experience to Canberra, where you can learn about the true origins of tea from its historical birthplaces around the world.

From Japan to Korea, India to Sri Lanka, and the ranges of the Himalayan mountains, Tea Connoisseur is bringing Canberrans the finest teas from around the globe, and the knowledge that comes with them.

Owner Coco Zeng combines her extensive tea lounge experience of serving indulgent high teas, with the centuries-old art of Yunnan Tea.

Carefully handpicked and handcrafted from the cloud veiled mountains of Yunnan in the Himalayas, Wild Yunnan Tea is proudly hand picked in spring from wild forest tea trees – many of which are between 300 and 3,000 years old.

Their roots have taken decades to grow, seeking out layers of ancient minerals, nutrients, and sub-terrarium waters, which regular plants can’t access. The annual springtime harvest follows heavy winter snow, which enriches the soil as it melts.

Now, the fruits of this ancient labour are brought to you by true members of the Yunnan tea farmer’s families.

Tea Connoisseur

The experience of enjoying the rich taste of Wild Yunnan tea and fine delicacy meals, all without ever leaving home, is like no other.

“The secret to true tea is that it holds countless health benefits in its purest form,” says Coco.

For centuries, tea has been utilised in its countries of origin for improving digestion, boosting antioxidants, weight loss, and improving energy.

Tea Connoisseur stands by the traditional advantages of tea, by ensuring the lunch bar is stocked with handpicked and handmade seasonal delicacies to pair with your drink of choice.

For steamy summer afternoons, their iced teas and mocktails are 100 per cent herb-based, in cult-favourite flavours like Gin Fizz and Apple Mojito.

As Tea Connoisseur brews come straight from the source, every tea can stand seven to ten brews. You will not believe your tastebuds when you try the fruit of ancient forests. Peruse their menus to learn which region your tea comes from, the height of the mountain climbed, and the story of the brew.

Connoisseur Hour is 3pm to 5pm, Fridays and Saturdays, when you can indulge in Tea Connoisseur’s award-winning beverages for a special price.
