One of the most iconic, culture-defining shows of a generation is coming back to TV screens as the highly anticipated reunion special of Friends airs on 27 May.

After months of rumours, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Mathew Perry and David Schwimmer are officially returning to the iconic comedy’s original soundstage for a real-life, unscripted celebration of the beloved show in a one-off special called The One Where They Got Back Together.

The reunion special will feature all six original cast members, other familiar, beloved characters, and a whole slew of other celebrity guests.

In the lead up to the big day, here are 6 ideas to prepare and celebrate The One Where They Got Back Together.

Binge watch every episode

With 10 seasons, 236 episodes, and only three sleeps out from the reunion premiere, this feat is not for the faint of heart.

Test your knowledge with some Friends trivia

Now is the perfect time to refresh your knowledge, gather your nearest and dearest, and find out how much you really know about the show! Crown the biggest Friends fan by creating your own trivia game. You can even up the stakes by making your own ‘Geller Cup’ as a prize for the winner. For those who like to keep things simple, there are plenty of Friends-themed trivia sites to help you test your knowledge.

Step back into the ‘90s

Take a trip down memory lane and dust off your favourite ‘90s games to really get into the mood. Bring out classics such as Twister, Connect Four and Uno. Or channel a bit of Joey and Chandler, go all out and see if you can find a Foosball table. Nothing like a little friendly competition!

Make your favourite recipes from the show

The food we’ve seen on Friends is almost as iconic as the characters on the show. The name Joey is practically synonymous with pizza or a meatball sub, and who could forget the lost recipe of Phoebe’s grandmother’s famous chocolate chip cookies, or Rachel’s hilarious Thanksgiving trifle blunder? There are hundreds of Friends-inspired recipes available online, so Aussies can channel their inner Monica and cook up a feast, or if all else fails, order in!

Throw a watch party

What’s the point of making all of that Friends themed food if you don’t have people to share it with? Get your friends together and throw yourselves a fun watch-party for the reunion. Decorate the house with Friends-themed décor or create your own little Central Perk in the lounge room.

Dress for the occasion

Bring on the nostalgia and celebrate the reunion by dressing up as your favourite character or by wearing a Friends-themed Oodie!

Friends: The Reunion will be available on BINGE this Thursday 27 May from 5.02pm AEST.
